Cheri Maracle is a multi-award nominated actor, singer, and songwriter of the Six Nations of the Grand River, Ontario. She has a theatre-trained background and has performed professionally for the past 20 years across Canada, the United States, and Europe.
She was an artistic associate of the Dora Award-winning Aboriginal women's theatre company Turtle Gals from 2006 to 2008, and received K.M. Hunter Theatre Award nominations in 2007 and 2014.
In 2014, Cheri received a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Featured Role for her portrayal of Sarah Bull on Blackstone (APTN). She has co-hosted the Indspire Awards in 2007 and 2014.
Cheri Maracle is a multi-award nominated singer and actress from the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory, Ontario. With over 20 years of performing in Canada, the U.S., and Europe, she brings extensive music, theatre, television, and film credits to her artistry.
A founding member of the women's traditional hand-drum group Tiyoweh, Cheri now performs with her jazz quartet at festivals across the country. She has collaborated with pianist Brendan Peltier for over 12 years, performing contemporary and classic jazz standards.
Her sound is jazz-fuelled, percussion-driven, and layered with her trademark smooth, sultry, smoky vocals — at once evocative, haunting, and unforgettable.
